The school has an alumni community of about 9700 graduates, many of whom have made important contributions to their fields and received international recognition for their work.
Notable alumni include Pritzker Prize winner I.M. Pei (AR'40), a leader in modern architecture; urban thinker Kevin Lynch (CP'47), author of the groundbreaking book The Image of the City, among many others; and inventor Saul Griffith (SM’01, PhD’04) winner of a ‘Genius Grant’ from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, which called him a ‘prodigy of invention in service of the world community’.
