Mary Robinson to Give SA+P Advanced Degree Ceremony Address

Mary Robinson, Founder of the Mary Robinson Foundation-Climate Justice and former President of Ireland, will deliver the keynote address at the School of Architecture and Planning Graduation Ceremony.

A lawyer by training, Mary Robinson has held several national and international leadership positions, including President of Ireland from 1990 until 1997, United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights from 1997 to 2002, Chancellor of the University of Dublin from 1998 until 2019. She is also a founding member and former chair of the Elders Group, a group of world leaders founded by Nelson Mandela in 2007 to work for “peace, justice, human rights, and a sustainable planet.”

She has received several accolades including the Erasmus Prize in 1999, the US Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009, and the Tang Prize in 2024.
