Karyn Nakamura '24, a design major, and Alexander Htet Kyaw, a graduate student in architecture and a current MAD design fellow, have been awarded Steve Jobs Archive Fellowships. This one-year, non-residential program is designed for "promising young people in their creative, professional, and personal development" who are working "at the intersection of technology and the liberal arts." Kyaw is working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robotics, design, and fabrication. Nakamura is a visual forensics researcher exploring how emerging technologies influence media and communication. While an undergraduate in spring 2022, Nakamura transformed the iconic façade of Simmons Hall into an interactive canvas.
