Vuslat Doğan Sabancı

Vuslat Doğan Sabancı is an international business leader, philanthropist, and leading voice on human rights, gender equality, and independent media in Turkey.  She is the founder of the Vuslat Foundation, a global initiative to create an ecosystem of generous listening for youth and civil society. The foundation aims to place the skill of generous listening—hearing beyond words—at the center of all our connections by 2030; it supports academic research regarding listening, creating awareness with artists and  storytellers, and developing generous listening practices.

Ms. Doğan Sabancı is the former chairwoman of Hürriyet Publishing, Turkey’s largest independent news outlet. Under her leadership, the paper became one of Turkey’s largest internet groups in digital content and spearheaded an editorial policy that focused on issues of gender equality and human rights. 

Ms. Doğan Sabancı holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bilkent University and master’s degree in International Media and Communications from Columbia University. She is a board member of several  prominent organizations that support peace, women’s advancement, entrepreneurship, and freedom of expression.
