Alongside labs and centers, groups and initiatives bring faculty, students, and external collaborators together around emerging questions and shared areas of inquiry. Often formed through particular projects, methods, or concerns, they create flexible settings for research, experimentation, and collaboration.
Groups & Initiatives
Architecture Groups
The department of Architecture is organized around five discipline groups spanning architectural design and urbanism, art and technology, building science, computation, and history theory and criticism. Each develops teaching and research within its own field while contributing to the department’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.

DUSP Program Groups & Initiatives
DUSP’s Program Groups provide the pillars around which much of the department’s intellectual life is structured, while serving as gateways to a broader ecosystem of research and action labs and initiatives. Drawing together people from different disciplines and areas of interest, they support work that crosses boundaries between planning, design, policy, research, and practice.
